The U.S. Embassy in Bratislava was pleased to welcome a large U.S. Congressional delegation to Slovakia for meetings from August 3-5. Led by Congressman Bob Goodlatte, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, the bipartisan delegation – which included Representatives Mike Bishop, Doug Collins, Louie Gohmert, Richard Hudson, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Scott Peters – met with Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs State Secretary Lukas Parizek, Ministry of Justice State Secretary Maria Kolikova, members of Parliament, and civil society representatives. The Congressmen discussed shared interests related to Slovakia’s Presidency of the EU Council, judicial reform, strengthening NATO, counterterrorism, migration, and energy security.
