The Central and Eastern Europe Journalist Fellowship Program expands the capacity of professional journalists and improves the sustainability of citizen-generated media in Central and Eastern Europe. Through conferences, skills building workshops, networking, and professional fellowships, journalists increase professional standards, advance the credibility and accuracy of their reporting, build cross continental partnerships, and bolster sustainability of an independent media sector in the region.
This initiative brings journalists from across Central and Eastern Europe to the United States for training and a two-month professional fellowship at a U.S. media organization as well as journalism, media and digital literacy training at U.S. universities and organizations.
Program Dates: June – August 2020
This program is funded by the U.S. Department of State through the U.S. Embassy in France and is implemented by Meridian International Center.
