Dear Mr. President:

Together with the American people, I offer best wishes to you and the people of the Slovak Republic this Constitution Day.

Our mutual commitment to the transatlantic family of nations fortifies our partnership as we stand together to build a Europe whole, free, and at peace. The Slovak Republic’s transition to a democratic society continues to provide an invaluable example for countries still on the road to democracy. We look forward to deepening our cooperation both in Slovakia and the region on promoting human rights and rule of law, two critical pillars for any truly open and free nation.

As we take time to celebrate the outstanding friendship and partnership between the United States and the Slovak Republic, please accept our most sincere congratulations on this joyous occasion.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
