U.S. Embassy Speakers Program

The U.S. Embassy Bratislava Public Affairs Section is pleased to draw your attention to the embassy speakers program. This program provides an opportunity for Slovak audiences and institutions to engage with a native English speaker from the United States on a particular topic. While we at the Embassy cannot guarantee that we will be able to send a speaker to cover every topic, we will do our best to work with you and your group to accommodate your request. This program was initiated in 2007 and has since become an important part of Embassy outreach efforts in Slovakia. Some of the topics that diplomats from the U.S. Embassy have addressed in the past include:

  • EducationUSA: Opportunities for study in the United States
  • Visas, work, and travel in the U.S.
  • American politics (e.g., elections, Obama administration, political parties)
  • American culture (including music and visual arts), environmental policy, social issues (e.g., diversity and multiculturalism), and other aspects of American life

We can also provide speakers on more specific policy topics, ranging from international security to economic policy, from various sections of the embassy. We particularly welcome opportunities to engage in conferences, discussions, Q&A sessions, and other formats that allow for an exchange of ideas between American diplomats and Slovak audiences. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your suggestions if you have a topic or event that you would like a speaker for.

Please note that the American speaker’s trip will be arranged and paid for by the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava. We are responsible for the logistics of the trip such as booking tickets, providing transportation, making hotel reservations, and organizing the speaker’s visit. We welcome your suggestions concerning topics and points for discussion.

The program coordinator, Natália Pindrochová, is available via e-mail at outreachslovakia@state.gov or telephone: +421-2-5922 3312. Please fill in the form if you are interested in requesting a speaker.
