The InfoUSA centers in Slovakia are part of a world-wide network of 470 “American Corners” and represent close partnerships between the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava and the administrations of the three libraries in which they are housed.
Each center contains a core collection, funded by the Embassy, of print and multi-media materials about American history, government, culture and people, as well as technical equipment including digital video conferencing (DVC) capability.
InfoUSA centers organize public discussions and debates with American experts in various fields and lectures and seminars for students. Programs are often organized in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy and Fulbright Commission in Slovakia.
Audiences include high school and university students, teachers of English, young professionals and general public.
These centers are gateways to America. Their mission is to promote mutual understanding between the United States and Slovak Republic.
