The J. W. Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange in the Slovak Republic promotes the educational, research and cultural exchanges between the United States and the Slovak Republic through the Fulbright Program.
Thanks to the Program, since 1994 about 320 Slovak awardees have had the opportunity to study, teach or conduct research in the United States and nearly 340 American students, scholars, and professionals have been awarded Fulbright grants in a variety of academic fields.
Fulbright Foreign Student Program
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer at U.S. universities or other appropriate institutions.
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program
U.S. institutions of higher education may submit proposals to host Fulbright lecturers from abroad for one or both semesters in an academic year.
Fulbright-Schuman Program
The Fulbright-Schuman Program, administered by the Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States and Belgium/Luxembourg, is jointly financed by the U.S. State Department and the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission. The program funds graduate and post-graduate study, research, and lecture proposals in the field of US-EU relations, EU policy, or EU institutions for interested American and EU citizens.
Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to approximately 850 foreign scholars from over 100 countries to conduct post-doctoral research at U.S. institutions from an academic semester to a full academic year.
Ronald and Eileen Weiser Professional Development Award
A four-week or three-month stay for academic experts and educators at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. Applicants may submit projects in all areas of research and teaching, seeking to implement in collaboration with faculty members and departments at the University of Michigan.
