Combatting Covid-19 — Chargé d’Affaires Natasha Franceschi and Members of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs Team Present PPE to the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic in Malacky

July 23, 2020

On behalf of the U.S. government, United States Chargé d’Affaires Natasha Franceschi and members of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs team based in Martin, handed over personal protective equipment (PPE) as a gift to the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.  The donation is part of a cooperative effort to support first-line healthcare professionals combat Covid-19 in Slovakia, and took place after the U.S. Ambassador Bridget Brink and Slovak Health Minister Marek Krajci signed an agreement that the United States would donate more than $30,000 of PPE via a Defense Department program.  The donation will serve to protect healthcare workers who continue to battle Covid-19 and help prevent further outbreaks in Slovakia.  The donation included 600 protective suits, more than 13,000 surgical masks, as well as 650 N95 masks.
