Ambassador Sterling traveled to eastern Slovakia from November 13-15 to conduct outreach and learn about the local business and security environment. In Kosice, the Ambassador discussed U.S.-Slovak shared values with an audience of 180 British and American Studies students at Safarik University. In Kechnec, he met the mayor, learned about that town’s efforts to spur foreign investment and innovation, and spoke with a group of local citizens at a town hall. The Ambassador also toured the Customs Training Center near Uzhorod, Ukraine and received a briefing from the Border and Alien Police, visited the Eustream Reverse Flow gas facility in Velke Kapusany, and learned about Slovak entrepreneurship at the CEIT Biomedical Engineering Company in Kosice and at the Tokaj Macik Winery in Mala Trna.
