Hello! Dobry den! My name is Bridget Brink and I am so humbled and excited to be the new U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia.
Over my career as a diplomat, I’ve called Washington DC, Uzbekistan, Georgia, and Serbia home. Now, I am absolutely thrilled to work and live in your beautiful country in the heart of Europe. I’ve dedicated my career to the transatlantic relationship, and will continue those efforts together with all of our Slovak partners. My family and I cannot wait to experience all of the beauty, culture, and hospitality Slovakia has to offer. We especially enjoy the outdoors, adventure, and sports. We loved spending our first weekend in Slovakia hiking in the High Tatras! I am from Michigan, where we share two important things with your amazing country: a love of winter sports and a passion for hockey. Once snow falls, you will find us on your world-class ski slopes. And we will look forward to getting to know Slovak teams and fans! I am also ready to step into Slovakia’s vibrant cultural scene—from art to theater to music. I look forward to learning more about Slovakia’s rich cultural history and enjoyed visiting Spis castle during my first week in country. The partnership between our countries is strong and getting stronger. In my first few weeks and months, I will be meeting with political and business leaders, civil society representatives, and media and cultural figures. I look forward to expanding our friendship based on our shared values. I also want to meet with as many of you as I can as I travel from Skalica (Ska-leet-suh) to Snina (Sneen-uh) and everywhere in between.
