Approximately 500 soldiers and 150 vehicles from the U.S. Army’s 2nd Cavalry Regiment visited Slovakia from September 14-17 as part of Dragoon Crossing, a movement from Germany through Czech Republic and Slovakia to Hungary. The U.S. soldiers participated in a joint religious service and soccer match at Malacky Airfiled near Bratislava on September 15.

The following day, the Slovak Ministry of Defense hosted an open doors event to display the convoy’s vehicles and provide the Slovak people with an opportunity to meet the American soldiers in person‎. The visit took place within the context of the Slovak Shield training exercise and was another demonstration of our countries’ shared commitment to collective defense.
